Welcome to Bläse kalkbruk!

 

MUSEUM
At the Limeworks Museum of Bläse the stone industry of Gotland is being presented through numerous exhibitions. Inside the museum you can read about the calcinations of limestone at the kilns of Bläse as well as the living conditions of the workers and the families. You may also view the art and the handcraft of locals connected to the lime industry of northern Gotland.
Our guides offer a tour through the working process at the lime industry of Bläse. From the mining at the quarry, burning in the kilns, and shipping out to sea. If you would like to book a group tour, please contact us at: info@blase.se

STONE TRAIN
With our reconstructed railway and stone train you may also take a historical tour from the museum up to the old quarry, and back again. At the quarry, which today is water-filled, you may take a swim or eat your picnic by the shore. The tour is about 40 minutes back and forth.

 

GUEST HARBOUR
Visit our guest harbour and enjoy the beautiful suroundings.
You will find showers and toilets in the servicebuilding.

VAN SPOTS

MEMBER
The Limeworks Museum in Bläse opened in 1985. Since then volunteers and interest groups has worked together to create and develop the museum, and to preserve the history of the stone industry at Gotland.
